Is insurance included in the daily rate?

Do I have to pay a security bond?

A security bond or security deposit is a deposit paid by you which is held by the vehicle rental company while you are renting their vehicle. It is fully refundable when you return the vehicle in a satisfactory condition. Some companies require only a swipe or imprint of your credit card, while other companies require physical payment (and they refund it back at completion of rental). Bonds can vary, and so can the way they are taken – so please check the terms or insurance information on your relevant vehicle.

Most companies offer several options to reduce the size of the bond and security deposit. These are generally a daily charge (the daily charge is not refundable), and any options are outlined in the terms and conditions, and presented at the time of booking.

What are the excess reduction or CDW options?

Once you have selected the vehicle you are interested in, please read the terms and conditions for that vehicle – they will generally outline the insurance options available. You can also begin the booking process and any extra insurance options are available (with descriptions of what they are) appear on the first booking screen.

What are the depot hours for my hire?

What if I return the vehicle early?

Please check the terms of the vehicle you are thinking of renting, but as a general rule, there are no refunds for the early return of a vehicle.

What if I return the vehicle late?

There can be penalties for returning the vehicle after the agreed drop off time. Please check the terms to read about the late return policy of the vehicle you are renting as they can vary from vehicle to vehicle.

Are unlimited kms included?

This varies from vehicle to vehicle, so please read the terms of the vehicle you are wishing to rent. If there is a charge for kms or miles, you can purchase these in advance at the time of booking.

Is 24 hour assistance included?

Most vehicle rental companies do include 24 hours assistance, but please check the terms of the vehicle you are wishing to rent to be sure.

Are taxes included?

All taxes are described in the terms of the vehicle you are renting, and are usually calculated at the time of booking.

Is my driver’s licence valid?

Please check the vehicle’s terms and conditions to see if your national driver’s licence is valid. The requirements can vary from vehicle to vehicle.

Are there additional driver fees?

Please check the terms of the vehicle you are interested in hiring to see if any additional driver fees apply. Alternatively, you can begin the booking process and you can generally add additional drivers at this stage.

What are the age restrictions for hiring?

How much is the deposit?

The deposit payable can vary between vehicles but is generally between 10 and 25%. You can view the exact deposit once you begin the booking process – and this is displayed before you are asked to enter any credit card details. The deposit is processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed.

How to do I pay for my rental?

The way you pay the balance can vary between vehicles.

You can read about payment policy in the terms and conditions for your selected vehicle, or start the booking process and payment policy is clearly labelled half way through the process.

Broadly speaking, the majority of car rental companies let you pay the balance upon arrival when you pick up the vehicle, while campervan/motorhome/rv rental companies often require full prepayment around 28 days prior to hire – again this is outlined in the terms, and in the booking window.

In cases where prepayment is required, the balance will be processed on your supplied credit card at the appropriate time.

Can I prepay the whole hire now?

Please check the terms and conditions to see the payment policy of the vehicle you are interested in. Some suppliers on our website demand prepayment (full payment before the rental commences). For suppliers who require that the balance is paid when you pick up the vehicle, you must contact the relevant supplier after your booking is confirmed to check whether they will accept your early payment.

Hiring baby equipment

If baby and child seats or other equipment is available with the vehicle you wish to rent, these will be outlined and available to be booked when you make your booking.

What is average age of vehicles?

When you search for vehicles, the search results panels display the average vehicle age.

Having problems booking?

If you have completed the online booking request form and are having problems submitting the form, please check all mandatory fields marked with an asterisk are completed.

Can’t open confirmation of booking?

When your booking is confirmed we email your confirmation to you. Sometimes the security setting on your email can break the confirmation link when it arrives in your inbox. It is easy to fix this. Please copy and paste the link into your internet browser address bar and push Enter on your keyboard to refresh the page.

If you’re still unsuccessful, please email us and we can send you another copy in a different format.

No vehicles available for travel dates?

Please refine your search. You may have to extend your dates to achieve minimum rental periods. Also, if your rental crosses over into a new year, please ensure the correct year is selected on the search.

Can you send me brochures?

All the vehicle specifications we have available are shown on our website. Unfortunately we do not have printed brochures of any of the vehicles featured on our website.

Why are rates different to those advertised?

The prices shown on the advertisement panels are live prices for pick ups this week. Prices for vehicle rental change with seasonal demand, much like airline tickets or hotel rooms. They can also change per location. Therefore the only way to get an accurate price is to enter your travel dates into the search panel and select your vehicle from the results displayed with your correct dates.

Coupon or discount code not working?

If there is a discount or coupon offer available for your travel dates on this website, this offer should be automatically actioned at the time of booking. If the offer is not working, please enter the Promo Code (shown on the coupon) into the Coupon/Promotion Code panel at the top of the first booking screen. Your discount or details of the offer will then show on the following booking screen.
